We want to clear up some rumors circulating on some blogs stating that our Chase Freedom credit card will be discontinued at the end of the year
Here are the facts
- There are no plans to discontinue Chase Freedom or the 5% categories that come with it.
- Chase Freedom is one of our most popular cards and will continue to be available online.
- Chase Freedom Unlimited debuted in March to give customers more options for earning cash back – not to replace Chase Freedom.

但是 DoC 自己也說了，Chase 的這類回復未必是真的，他們也可能自打臉的。另外值得注意的一點是，我們 Google 了一下這段話，發現這段話居然是3月份就已經出現在 TPG 的博文里了！也就是說，Chase 這段話其實針對的並不是最近的這個 rumor。。。

好久沒來嚇唬大家的小心肝了，但是現在有個英文論壇滿天飛的乳摸，目前這消息僅是rumor，我們也在儘力核實，大家就先當閑聊看吧！
Chase Freedom 每季度有一個類別的消費能夠賺 5x UR 點數，是一張深受歡迎的信用卡。然而最近在reddit上有小道消息指出，Chase Freedom 可能將於今年年底被下架，強制轉卡為 Chase Freedom Unlimited (CFU)——新出的 everything 1.5x UR 的信用卡。鑒於帖子的樓主說這一小道消息的來源是 Chase Private Client (CPC) Banker，所以有一定的可信度。另外，DoC 也在回帖中表示他收到了好幾封讀者 email 跟他說起同一個小道消息。不得不說，綜合看來，這個消息很可能是真的了。其實現在 Chase branch 里已經無法申請老 Freedom 了，只能網申，這就是一個此產品即將被下架的強烈信號。
一路走來，各種5%返現卡都是要麼已經下架，要麼走在了下架的路上。 R.I.P.。前有 Sallie Mae 和 Citi Forward，今有 Chase Freedom。估計銀行經過這麼多年的數據積累，已經發現5%返現無法讓其盈利了，他們估計本來的計劃是用5%返現留住客戶然後期待客戶所有消費都刷它，沒想到有太多人就只刷那5%的類別。。。其他的5%返現卡是否能夠堅挺呢？Old Blue Cash (OBC) 已經是半死不活的狀態，BBVA Compass NBA 剛剛被加上了上限。如果 Chase Freedom 當真被下架了，我想 Chase 家的真神卡 Chase Ink Plus 應該也不遠了… 希望最受大家歡迎的 Discover it 能夠靠着更高的刷卡手續費堅挺吧！
當然，我們也非常非常希望這個小道消息不是真的！希望認識 Chase 員工的讀者以及 CPC 用戶能夠問一問認識的 banker 他們是怎麼看這一消息的，希望這個小道消息最後能夠被打臉！
